A major new contract to supply a range of services to the Port of Liverpool’s new shipping terminal, is one of a number of positive contract wins that are shaping the growth of Eldapoint.
The three-year contract, valued at more than £1 million per annum, will see Eldapoint provide refrigerated shipping containers to the newly-opened Liverpool2 terminal. As part of the contract, we will also deliver a 24/7, year-round monitoring and repair service to Liverpool2.
Andy Blount, Eldapoint Finance Director commented: “We are already recognised as the UK’s leading provider of container solutions to blue chip clients both domestically and within the global marketplace."
“Our success in securing this contract with the Port of Liverpool after what was an extremely rigorous tender process is highly significant for our business. We expect to recruit up to 20 new staff to resource the contract over the coming six month period with the possibility of further new jobs as the project develops.
Andy Blount continued: 2017 “Our experience of delivering similar support to Port of Felixstowe for the last nine years will be invaluable in supporting our strategy for this prestigious contract.”
Officially opened in November 2016, Liverpool2 is a deep water facility which complements the existing Royal Seaforth Container Terminal at the port, with each terminal having capacity to handle around 1 million containers per annum.
Operated by Peel Ports, the new terminal is now able to accommodate the world’s biggest cargo vessels. It was developed in response to changing trading patterns and shipping industry trends towards the use of ‘mega’ ocean-going container ships.
