Top UK Wedding Destinations and Venues
11-11-2019
You may not believe this, but outside of the hustle-and-bustle of inner-city life the UK is home to some absolutely stunning scenery and wedding venues. As wedding chauffeurs, we have seen so many different wedding venues that really stand out and make for a beautiful wedding day for all involved. In this helpful article, we are going to outline some of the best UK wedding destinations and the wedding venues that lie within them. So, here are our recommendations for the top UK wedding destinations and venues for 2019/20.
Woodstock, Oxfordshire
It should be no surprise that Oxfordshire is home to many stunning wedding venues, but there is one in particular that you may not know about: Blenheim Palace. The birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, it is an absolutely stunning property perfect for anyone looking for a beautiful wedding venue. If you live outside of Oxfordshire, it is certainly worth the travel time to witness and get married in this impressive property.
Banbury, Oxfordshire
Another hidden gem in Oxfordshire is Aynhoe Park, located near Banbury. One of their taglines “An extraordinary marriage begins in an extraordinary place.” speaks volumes about their venue and we must say, it really is extraordinary. Their walled gardens and estate grounds look out over farms and fields, creating a stunning landscape perfect for anyone looking for an elegant but rustic feel to their wedding.
Taplow, Buckinghamshire
Hedsor House is ‘an absolutely amazing place’, according to Johnny Depp (and this doesn’t even begin to describe the beauty of this Georgian house). The house itself was designed by the architect responsible for Somerset House and comes complete with its very own half-mile long driveway. This wedding venue is a truly unforgettable escape, completely free of distractions yet so close to all of the amenities of the South East.
Midhurst, West Sussex
Located near the market town of Midhurst, West Sussex, Cowdray Park is perfect for anyone looking to host a large wedding without sacrificing elegance. Set in 110 acres of gardens and parkland, Cowdray House has a lot of choice for your special day. You have the stunning Buck Hall, the Tudor Manor House and even the Clubhouse. As well, you will also have the use of 22 bedrooms for your closest friends and family to enjoy.
Note: Unfortunately, we could not find an image that we could use within this article. However, the website has a lot of high-quality images of the wedding venue so we really recommend taking a look.
Edinburgh, Scotland
Edinburgh is full of cosy bed and breakfasts and hotels but is also home to a few beautiful wedding venues. One such venue is Borthwick Castle, found just 30 miles from Edinburgh airport. It is a well-preserved, 15th Century Scottish Keep and is the only one of its kind in private hands across all of Europe! Complete with 12 bed chambers and room for a whopping 85 guests, it is available for private hire for weddings.
Ayrshire
Another wedding venue in Scotland is Sorn Castle; offering a bespoke wedding service that is the perfect venue to choreograph the most special day of your life, you don’t want to miss out on this amazing venue. They cater for smaller, more intimate weddings in the castle and larger events and banquets in the marquee.
