"ASK Technology is a specialist Contract Electronics Manufacturer focused on today’s demanding fast-turn prototype and low-medium volume markets. Over the years ASK have developed a reputation for undertaking work on some of the most challenging, hi-tech products currently in development, and the directors have strived to ensure that the company keeps pace with modern advances in technology. We work with many of the worlds leading semiconductor manufacturers who are pushing the boundaries of what we need to place on PCBs. As a result we are placing 0201, CSPs, QFNs and micro-BGAs on a daily basis, and we are now seeing tentative enquiries coming through with designers looking to utilise 01005 packages. To ensure we can continue to offer this capability we need to keep ahead of the game with the latest equipment. This requires investment, even in the tougher times we have been experiencing in recent years. At ASK, we understand the importance of having the right tools for the job. The more demanding the job, the more important it is. Being a relatively small CEM the decision of what to buy is critical. We have recently invested in a Mirtech Automated Optical Inspection machine and our latest acquisition is the Samsung SM421 placement machine. We feel that these new investments coupled with the wealth of experience from our long standing and knowledgeable employees, will mean we are in a strong position to continue to provide the excellent service to which our customers have become accustomed. Commenting on the new purchase Karl Pearson explained “we have always strived to implement a policy of continual re-investment, ensuring that we keep pace with latest technologies. This policy has, over the years meant that we have been able to continue to offer our customers a fast track high technology solution”. He continued “ASK has grown considerably over the last 8 years, achieving annual growth of over 10% year on year, primarily from the recommendations of our customers. As a result we now need to add further production capacity, and the acquisition of the Samsung SM421 was a logical choice, cementing our on-going relationship with Elite7”. Simon Jones added “The Samsung SM421 will add an increased capability of 21k/cph, to ASKs maximum production output, but this is not the main reason for its choice. Elite7 have always provided us with an outstanding service on our existing Samsung machines, and it is critical that we suffer minimum downtime. The Samsung kit that we already have has proved to be tremendously reliable, and Elite7 have always been on hand in case of any emergencies.”"
