Case Study: Pneumatic Step Unit
28-10-2021
We recently supplied a new MK5 (5 step) Pneumatic Step Unit to an existing customer to allow them to drop down on top of tankers for sampling and inspections. They approached us because they had been so impressed with how previously supplied manual units have worked and are still working.
We received the enquiry originally in January 2021 and the new Pneumatic Step Unit was ordered at the start of March 2021. Having originally supplied quotes for both manual and pneumatic options, it was agreed, after review, that a pneumatic option was the best solution for them. This was based on safety due to the size of the drop from the existing gantry to the tanker.
Once everything was agreed drawings for approval were supplied. This allowed us to finalise the final details including amendment of the bolt holes and the addition of a third rung around the safety cage.
We were unable to visit the site during the enquiry and manufacture stage due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. However since the unit has been installed, we have visited the site together with colleagues from our manufacturing plant to help ensure everything is working as it should. We offer site visits so we can ensure a full understanding of our customers requirement, the correct solutions are provided and relationships are developed.
Feedback:
“Great service – very easy to deal with”
~
“Extremely happy with the step unit – it does exactly what we need”
We first supplied sets of manual step units to our customer over 20 years ago to allow them safe access to the top of tankers that were coming onto their site.
Despite these units still being in great condition (given their age) we are now in discussions to either convert them to or provide completely new pneumatically operated systems to improve manual handling for their staff and drivers.
Our range of Step Units are perfect for keeping your staff and drivers safe when working from heights and the range has recently expanded with the addition of the Mobile Step Unit. So, If you have a safety concern and would like to see how we can support your business and help to keep your staff safe, then get in touch with our Sales Team to discuss your requirement. They will be delighted to help, wherever you are in the world.
