Exeter Analytical is committed to providing an exceptional and consistent quality in its services and products. To this end we have invested in upgrading our Quality Management System form ISO 9001:2008 to the new standard ISO 9001:2015 to better serve our customers.
The process required a gap analysis to assess the current system and understand what was required for successfully transition. All members of staff were involved in the process to encourage shared ownership in the changes.
The main changes included the following areas:
• Context – the effects on the business with regards to the political, social, and economic changes.
• Interested Parties – the different perspectives of each person or party engaged with the business from staff to customers and suppliers.
• Risks and Opportunities – an evaluation of risks that the business faces and what opportunities may be taken in addressing those risks.
• Performance evaluation – As we currently hold UKAS accreditation ISO 17025, systems have already been developed to monitor performance of measurement and competency of staff training.
Towards the end of 2017 bsi carried out an initial assessment followed by an on-site audit. The bsi assessor recommended Exeter Analytical for recertification and transition to ISO 9001:2015, subject to review and approval by bsi compliance and risk department. The transition was later confirmed ready for 2018. The new certificate is now available to view on our website – see the following link.
