A major milestone in forteq’s journey has been reached with the opening of a second state-of-the-art production plant in Suzhou, China. This new facility will operate alongside the existing plant, marking forteq’s commitment to growth, innovation, and excellence.
The opening ceremony was attended by Lucie Toscani, CEO, and Anton Affentranger, President of the Board. Distinguished guests included representatives from SIP, valued customers Konghui (KH Automotive Technologies) and Nexteer, landlord THI, and esteemed business partners from BASF, DEMAG, DSM, and EMS. The presence of friends, colleagues, and stakeholders made the event a truly memorable occasion.
Strategic Growth in the Automotive Industry
The new plant underscores forteq’s leadership in the automotive sector, aligning with the surging demand for electric vehicles (EVs) in China. With a focus on Air Spring technology, Thermo-Management (TMM), and EV Powertrain solutions, forteq is well-positioned to seize opportunities in this rapidly expanding market.
forteq Suzhou: A Hub of Precision Manufacturing
forteq Suzhou provides comprehensive precision manufacturing and tooling services, employing around 300 people. The first plant, covering 8,318 square metres, began operations in June 2002.
The new production facility, adding an additional 7,487 square metres, is equipped with:
- 10 injection moulding machines (420T and 280T)
- 5 automated production systems
- A centralised feeding and drying system for handling all resin types
“This second plant is an important milestone for forteq in its 22 years of operation in Suzhou Industrial Park. It represents forteq’s wide range of technical capabilities in precision plastic gear manufacturing and the development and production of air spring product moulds. This enables forteq to offer unique value to the fast-developing EV market in China,” said Thomas Rao, Managing Director of forteq Suzhou.
