Leakages on piping systems are one of the most frequent causes of failures, disturbances during customer service and avoidable repair and maintenance costs. The lightweight plastic piping systems of GF Piping Systems enhance the safety and efficiency on board: They are permanently corrosion-free and thus eliminate one of the main causes of cable breakage and leakages. At the SMM in Hamburg, the leading international trade fair of the maritime economy, GF Piping Systems will be presenting its solutions for the shipbuilding industry this week (hall B3, stand 351/450)
"GF Piping Systems has been a reliable partner of the shipping and ferry industry for more than 20 years", says Roberto Chiesa, Global Segment Manager Marine at GF Piping Systems. "Our solutions help to drastically reduce stoppages and maintenance costs."The drinking water and cooling solutions of GF Piping Systems also reduce the risk of bacterial pathogens on board in the cabins, kitchens and restaurants. Thus, they protect the health of the passengers and reputation of the operator.
The plastic systems of GF Piping Systems cover all fluid applications on board and remain corrosion-free for the entire service life of the ship, which is at least more than 25 years. Thus, they are ideal for transporting drinking water and waste water, desalination and disinfection as well as for ballast water treatment and exhaust gas purification. Plastic piping systems are resistant to salt water and chemicals as well as UV radiation in outdoor installations (including the UV SeaDrain White System).
The displayed systems include the revolutionary, pre-insulated COOL-FIT 2.0 piping system. It was developed for the reliable transportation of cooling water in secondary cooling and conditioning and is already pre-insulated at the factory. This means that the previous subsequent insulation, which often requires a second team in the shipyard, is not necessary. COOL-FIT 2.0 reduces the installation time by around 50 percent and increases the energy efficiency by up to 30 percent. Since plastic systems are about 60 percent lighter than metal systems, they help to reduce structural demands and fuel consumption and to increase the payload.
GF Piping Systems is represented in 34 countries and manufactures at 32 locations in Europe, Asia and America, thus in all target regions. This means that our customers receive necessary products and spare parts directly to the ship, to the port or to the shipyard in a very short time. All relevant certificates and approvals are available for our systems worldwide, including those from the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
