New Herpetosure invasive weed membrane range launched

-the answer for many Japanese Knotweed issues A new range of membranes designed to control invasive weeds – predominately Japanese Knotweed – has been launched today by Herpetosure, the national ecological contractor. Herpetosure Membranes come in various widths in 0.75 mm and 1 mm gauge. They are suitable for the control of Japanese Knotweed, Horse Tail and other invasive weeds and are available across the country from this week. James Tyers, Manager of Herpetosure Invasive Solutions Ltd, says: ‘Our new membranes have been added to our ecological product range in response to increased demand from the construction industry over the last year. Use of membranes is much more cost effective than digging up the weeds and taking it to landfill and many developers are finding that membrane is the best and quickest solution.’ ‘Installing membrane to control Japanese Knotweed, for example, can be carried out in days at a fraction of the time and cost of ‘dig and dump’. Where conditions allow, the Knotweed can be encapsulated in the membrane or sealed in by the material.’ Made from lldpe, the Herpetosure membranes can be delivered as a complete roll or cut to the size requested by customers. Delivery times are 3 to 5 working days to most parts of the UK. Herpetosure Invasive Solutions has installed membrane at dozens of sites, including on railway land, housing, school and industrial developments, over the last year. It is best suited for use where land will not be disturbed or where the contaminated soil can be re-located on the site and buried encapsulated in the material.
