Founded in 2006 in East London, High Grade Metal Polishers Ltd. was established with a singular mission: to elevate metal polishing to an unparalleled level of artistry and precision. Our story began with an extraordinary challenge from a world-renowned sculptor, who sought an exceptional mirror finish for his stainless steel sculptures. This quest inspired our founder, Andrew Hedges, to turn his expertise into a dedicated company focused on perfecting the art of metal polishing.

At the time, Andrew was a skilled polishing technician at a metal finishing firm in Enfield, where his talent caught the attention of Jerry Hughes, Managing Director of AB Fine Art, who encouraged him to start his own venture. With support from Benson Sedgwick Engineering, Andrew rented a small space within their facilities and, with the help of just one employee, set out to redefine metal polishing standards. His goal was ambitious but clear: to create a “super mirror finish,” a refined level of polish that was unmatched in the industry. Through dedication and the innovative use of hand tools, High Grade Metal Polishers soon became a leader in producing high-end finishes for sculptures and other fabricated metal forms.

By 2010, our commitment to excellence enabled us to expand to a larger, fully equipped 7000-square-metre facility within Benson Works, complete with overhead cranes capable of lifting up to 10 tonnes. This space empowers us to manage larger projects efficiently while upholding the quality and precision our clients expect. Today, High Grade Metal Polishers continues to set new standards in the metal polishing industry, bringing exceptional finishes to clients across the UK and beyond.
