Houlder’s Marine Design Consultancy business undertook Damage Stability Analysis for a 62m Motor Yacht, Virginian. The yacht operates in the Mediterranean providing high quality accommodation for twelve guests in six cabins.
The damage stability tasks were undertaken to ensure compliance to the MCA Code of Practice for Safety of Large Commercial Sailing and Motor Vessels.
After an inclining experiment, the team in Portsmouth modelled the yacht’s hull using NAPA software and carried out detailed Damage Stability analysis. The resulting stability book was submitted for approval by the MCA on the client’s behalf.
