Inplas were commissioned to create the four great glass elevators used in the blockbuster movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Fabricated from 25mm, 30mm and 40mm clear Perspex the elevators were given a stunning finish using a brand new bonding technique to ensure perfect joint clarity.
Working on Thunderbirds The Movie, Inplas were commissioned to mould the three piece roof for Lady Penelope’s pink limousine, along with many other items used on the sets.
Blade Runner 2049
Inplas were commissioned to produce the thermoformed Perspex windscreens, side windows, floor windows and rear screens for three of the action vehicles in the new blockbuster Blade Runner 2049.
The intricate work was carried out to exacting requirements to complete the amazing look on the futuristic cars, showcasing our expertise and understanding of the highly specialised Perspex thermoforming process.
Guardians of the Galaxy
The new trailer for the Guardians of the Galaxy movie was released recently by Marvel.
Inplas were commissioned to thermoform the cockpit canopy of Star-Lord's space ship in 10mm clear Perspex – the huge 25ft x 9ft canopy was formed into sections and then delicately fixed into position. Click here to see it in action!
Working closely with the art directors and prop team from the initial concept idea through to final assembly, the stunning canopy was finished on time and on budget – testament to our expertise in Perspex forming and fabrication.
Prometheus Film Set
Inplas worked closely with the props department to create the Medi Bed for Ridley Scott's latest sci-fi movie Prometheus. 6mm Perspex sheets were thermoformed to mould the intricate convex and concave design of the main body panels. The panels were illuminated to bring the Medi Bed alive and hundreds of laser cut clear, opal frosted and pearl finished bezels were created to complete the stunning set design.
