Brighton Vaccination Centre Metal Detector Arch Update
As reported in our previous blog post, Insight Security is proud to be supporting the Brighton Centre based COVID-19 vaccination program by supplying essential security equipment. In February 2021, following weeks of intensive planning, the Brighton Centre opened its doors as a mass vaccination centre, becoming one of the first major national facilities established to combat the Coronavirus Pandemic. With an anticipated initial throughput of around 4,000 people per day, safety and security were primary considerations. It was essential that visitors should efficiently flow through the vaccination facility and undergo the required procedures while remaining safe and secure. Among the Safety and Security measures introduced were 8 x Garrett PD6500i walkthrough metal detector arches supplied by Insight Security. These were installed to enable fast and effective security screening of everyone visiting the Brighton Centre for their vaccinations. Wheelchair Accessible Metal Detector Arch We are happy to report that the metal detector arches are doing exactly what they are required to do by providing essential security at the centre. We have now supplied an additional Garrett metal detector arch, specially designed to be wide enough for wheelchair users. The extra-wide units are built to special order by Garrett Metal Detectors in the USA and are approved by the American Disability Alliance (ADA). In addition, all of the metal detector arches have now been equipped with special battery backup capabilities which means they will continue to operate even if the Brighton Centre power supply is interrupted.
