UKCA Marking - An Update
24-06-2021
The UKCA mark (UK Conformity Assessed) is a new certification mark which indicates conformity with the applicable requirements for products sold within Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales).
It will encompass the majority of goods or products which previously required CE marking.
For Northern Ireland, goods placed on the market will continue to align with the rules of the European Union (EU) and should be marked with either the CE mark or both the CE mark and UK(NI) mark.
Key dates to remember:
1st January – 31st December 2021
UKCA marking, CE marking, and combined CE and UK(NI) marking are all acceptable for goods placed on the GB market.
1st January 2022
CE Marking will no longer be accepted for goods placed on the GB market.
1st January 2023
For all products which require UKCA mark, the marking has to be on the product.
