WHY HOSE CLAMPS ARE ESSENTIAL FOR FARMING MACHINERY

One of the many industries where JCS’s hose clamps are widely used is the agricultural sector. FARMING MACHINERY We were reminded of how important hose clamps are to this industry during a recent visit to Lamma, the UKs largest Farming trade show where an extensive range of farming machinery was on display. Equipment such a crop-sprayers, slurry-spreaders and seed drills all rely heavily on high-performance hose clamps to ensure they work properly. The larger, tractor-mounted crop sprayers, for example, feature a series of hoses secured to a boom arm by hose clamps. Likewise, some designs of slurry spreaders include a run of hoses fixed to a main hose from a tank – hose clamps are essential for securing these hoses in place. Seed drills are another type of farming machinery that requires hose clamps, as the seeds are fed into a large hopper before being channelled down to the ground through a succession of hoses – all attached with hose clamps. STAINLESS STEEL Larger hi-torque clamps are also put to use to secure hoses running between storage tankers. Liquid fertilisers, pesticides and other liquids used for agricultural purposes are often pumped at pressure and the performance of the hose clamps is key to ensuring tasks are carried quickly and efficiently without incident.
