Imagine the scene. There are hundreds of thousands of people who are making their way to the main Olympic Park in East London. They have been waiting for this day for months, even years. They have come to watch the greatest event in the sporting world, which is being hosted in the UK for the first time since 1948. So who are they relying on to be able to find their way?
Working with VolkerFitzpatrick, we took care of all the signage on the approach to the Olympic Park from Wick Lane in Hackney along the Greenway, an important cycle and walking route and green space both during the London 2012 Games and in legacy.
We had manufactured and installed 134 directional fingers - which were all individually custom made to a length matching the graphic detail and logos relevant to the location such as London Underground, Capital Ring, View Tube and Lea Valley Park. We also produced and installed eight flags.
