Who Are York Gin?

Today we are going to talk about York Gin’s Mini-Mononblock machine from Karmelle. York Gin is an independent Gin distillery. They sell their own gins via their shop at the bottom of the shambles in York city center. They distill a wide variety of different gins, from the classic London Dry Gins to roman fruit, chocolate orange and grey lady flavoured gins. Their set up is impressive to say the least! The Gin is distilled in a traditional copper still. It is then diluted down to 42% proof alcohol before being bottled and labelled as the York Gin we know and love.

Where Is York Gin?

With two shops in the center of York, the first being on pavement at the bottom of the shambles and the second in York Train Station.

Harry and his company have quite the demand, all supplied by their factory in Poppleton just outside the City center.

Karmelle’s Helping Hand.

Harry’s increased demand over the winter season proved difficult to meet until he discovered Karmelle. As he explained in our interview last week, when we asked “When did you know you needed Karmelle?”. Harry replied instantly with “Christmas, its always Christmas” adding that gin is a “very season product”.

The answer to increasing production to meet that demand came in the form of Karmelle’s Mini-Monoblock machine. Ideal for miniature bottles anywhere between 10ml- 50ml and can work at up to 30 bottles per minuet (depending on container size and product). With its compact design a Mini-Monoblock can be placed in almost any factory and still do everything a full line can do. What really makes this machine special is its ability to do it all with just a push of a button. Thanks to this wonderful piece of machinery, Harry and his staff had all their stock ready for Christmas by December. No more heated tents and hand screwed bottles!
