4 Ways to Extend the Lifespan of Your Filling Machine
1. Inspect Your Filling Machine
If you’re lucky enough to have an in-house engineering team, it’s important that they inspect your filler regularly for signs of wear and tear. Preventative maintenance can then be carried out to ensure that these issues don’t lead to damage or a breakdown.
Even without engineers in-house, you can still carry out basic inspections. Our team are always on hand to provide technical support, either remotely or in person.
2. Invest in Regular Services for Your Filler
Scheduled services will help you to ensure that your filler is running as it should be and that issues are diagnosed and addressed before they become costly problems.
During a service, our engineers carry out a basic inspection, replace any worn parts, and run the filler to ensure that it is working efficiently.
We recommend having machines serviced on an annual basis. If your system is run continuously for long periods of time, more frequent services may be required.
We tailor service plans to reflect this, developing bespoke packages based on our customer’s production needs.
If it’s been several years since your filling machine was last serviced, we strongly suggest booking a site visit from an engineer – ideally, one who is familiar with the equipment.
3. Check That Parts are in Good Condition
Ensuring that replaceable parts (like seals and nozzle tips) are in optimal condition reduces downtime, stoppages and breakages. It’s advisable to keep spares in stock, although we can supply most parts at short notice.
Make sure that you replace worn parts with genuine spares, designed for your bottling machine.
4. Ensure That Staff are Properly Trained
Whether they’re operating machinery or carrying out maintenance, it’s vital that staff receive adequate training; operator errors can result in damage to equipment.
Our engineers deliver training during the installation and commissioning process, but refresher sessions can be booked at any time.
You schedule regular services for your car – why not your filling machine? Don’t wait for problems to arise; proper maintenance keeps machines running efficiently, and ensures that they deliver the best return on investment.
