Find the Right Labelling Machine for Your Application
Labelling for round/cylindrical bottles:
If you’re looking to apply self-adhesive labels to round or cylindrical containers, there are two options; an accurate Three Point Wrap Labelling Machine, or a Wraparound Belt System, which offers higher throughput speeds.
Three Point Wrap for Precision:
Is accurate label placement your priority? If so, you may want to opt for a Three Point Wrap labeller. This PLC-controlled system captures bottles on the conveyor, where they are turned by a set of three rollers as a label is applied.
Because every container is supported and stationary during the application, accuracy levels of +/-1mm can be achieved.
Three Point Wrap labelling will also help you to avoid ‘spiralling’ (when the front and rear edges of a label fail to align.) Its ‘stop-start’ operation means that it is limited to speeds of 30 – 50 bottles per minute (depending on label size).
In addition, the Three Point Wrap can be fitted with a registration device – a sensor that detects either a label or marker on a bottle and applies a label ‘in registration’ with it. This feature ensures accurate, consistent placement, giving you shelf-ready results that will reflect the quality of your product.
Like all Karmelle labellers, it can be integrated with filling and capping equipment to form an end-to-end liquid packaging line.
In 2018, we helped Karmelle customer Masons of Yorkshire to scale-up production without compromising their signature branding. Read more about the project here.
Wraparound Belt System for Speed:
Are you looking to improve efficiency, or even increase production?
A Wraparound Belt System applies self-adhesive labels to bottles as they move down the conveyor, rather than capturing them for placement. This enables it to achieve high throughput rates of 80 – 100 bottles p/m.
While less precise than the Three Point Wrap, a Wraparound labeller is an efficient choice for production.
Labelling for rectangular/square containers:
Applying self-adhesive labels to square or rectangular containers? Karmelle offers a choice of two systems: a Front and Back Labeller, or a Cross Dispense machine for single, three-sided labels.
Front and Back:
Karmelle’s Front and Back System features two labelling heads. Head one applies labels to the front of containers, with rear labels then applied via a second head. Efficient and operator-friendly, this machine offers label placement accuracy of +/- 1mm.
Cross Dispense:
For single ‘three panels’ labels, we generally recommend a Cross Dispense system. Labels are applied to the leading front face of the container by a single labelling head, and wiped down its opposing sides by a pair of spring-loaded flaps, giving a smooth finish.
Labelling for flow-wrapped products:
Designed for use in the bakery industry, Karmelle’s Flash Labeller applies labels to flow-wrapped bags or pouches.
The process is simple; as products pass along a belt conveyor, labels are dispensed and applied from above.
It can even be fitted with lockable castors, enabling your operators to move it between production lines.
Flexible and easy to use, the Flash Labeller is often paired with a printer for expiry dates.
Applying tamper evident labels:
If you’re a food and drink producer, you may need to apply tamper-evident labels to your bottles or jars.
Whether you’re using lollipop labels, watch straps or tax strips, automating this process could save your team valuable time and effort.
Karmelle’s Tamper Evident Labelling System applies labels to the lids or caps of containers. Each label’s tail is then wiped down by a set of rollers.
The right labelling equipment will help you to optimise your production process, and delivering accurate, consistent results, saving time, and freeing-up operators. To discuss your labelling requirements with the Karmelle team, contact us at karmelle@gmail.com, or call us on 01484 533356.
