Label Tec Scotland Limited, a leading provider of bespoke and innovative label solutions, has made a bold leap in digital printing technology by becoming the first company in the UK to install the AccurioLabel 400 Digital Label Press. Based in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire, the company continues to set benchmarks in the label industry, building on a 20-year partnership with Konica Minolta.
The AccurioLabel 400 is designed to deliver unrivalled speed, quality, and versatility. It achieves print speeds of up to 39.9 metres per minute and handles print resolutions of 1,200 dpi x 2,400 dpi, making it comparable to traditional flexographic presses in terms of speed and quality. This latest installation is set to enhance Label Tec Scotland’s capabilities, offering customers greater flexibility and access to a broader range of substrates without requiring pre-coating.
A Legacy of Innovation
Label Tec Scotland has a proven track record of adopting cutting-edge technology to stay ahead in a competitive market. In 2019, the company became the first in the UK to install the AccurioLabel 230, which played a crucial role in maintaining supply chains during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Paul Dunne, Managing Director at Label Tec Scotland, shared his thoughts on the latest investment:
“During a visit to Label Expo last year, we noticed how many digital technologies have stagnated over the past five years. The AccurioLabel 400 offers something different, printing incredibly high resolution at speeds matching traditional flexographic presses. It also produces an opaque white that can match anything on the market today. What’s more, there is no need to pre-coat the wide range of substrates we are able to print on.”
Paul also highlighted how this acquisition positions Label Tec Scotland to exploit the medium-to-higher run digital print segment, calling the investment a "safe bet" for the company’s future growth.
