Round 9 and Bemsee were at Brands Hatch in Kent, Brands is considered the spiritual home of Bemsee and is the track they end the season on. Matt in action at Brands Hatch on Saturday. (Image courtesy of JTW Motorsport Photography) Matt started the weekend with 555 points with closest contender, Tommy Downes on 468, a good finish in race one on Saturday would clinch the rookie title for Matt, but this is racing, anything can happen and it ain’t over til it’s over! Chasing down 112 in qualifying (Image courtesy of JTW Motorsport Photography) Matt’s first race, race 10 on the program was started, however a start line collision meant it was red flagged to be re-run later on in the program. Jubilant, knowing he’d done enough to secure the rookie championship (Image courtesy of JTW Motorsport Photography) Having qualified 7th on the grid, Matt kept it steady and brought it home in 6th on the overall grid and 2nd in class, behind Tommy Downes (who took all 4 class wins over the weekend), he’d done enough to secure the rookie championship. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed cheering Matt on from both the track and the comfort of our own homes via the TSL live timing website. From all of us at Lamonde Automation, well done Matt and we look forward to supporting you next season as well. If you want to follow Matt, he has a Facebook page here.
