Effective Kitchen Lights
LED lighting has been accurately described as ‘the next generation of lighting’ as a result of the many benefits of using this means of lighting.
Because the kitchen plays such a central role in the everyday lives of many people nowadays, the kitchen is often one of the first rooms to be redecorated or renovated following moving into a premises. A suitable choice of lighting can be a perfect finishing touch to a kitchen that has recently undergone refurbishment to provide a unique and personal finish to the overall aesthetic of the room. However, choosing attractive kitchen lights does not automatically mean that you have to compromise on practicality as there is a wide range of kitchen lights available for all possible purposes, such as under- and in-cabinet as well as in-drawer lighting and overhead lighting. Each of these types of kitchen lights are available in a variety of forms such as linear fluorescent tubes, compact fluorescent lights and Light Emitting Diode (LED) lighting.
The use of linear fluorescent kitchen lights has several advantages, whether in the form of strips for the underside of cabinets or as a fluorescent rack for cooking utensils. These advantages include being very cost efficient, having a brilliant colour rendering and also that they are available in a wide range of lengths and wattages. Another form of kitchen lighting that are great value for money are Compact fluorescent lights as they are cheaper that LED lighting, and the fact that they are longer lasting means that long-term maintenance costs are reduced.
LED lighting has been accurately described as ‘the next generation of lighting’ as a result of the many benefits of using this means of lighting. The advantages of using LED lights include the fact that they are available in a veritable spectrum of colours and have a life expectancy four hundred percent higher than that for fluorescent lights and twenty times that of halogen lights. This also makes them highly suitable for use as garden lighting. Recent advances in LED technology has also resulted in improved energy efficiency when compared to other types of lighting. These technological advances have resulted in energy savings of 60% compared to compact fluorescent lights and an incredible 90% compared with halogen lighting.
LED kitchen lights are available in a variety of forms to meet any possible need, from ‘button lights’ (available in white, blue and green), to strip lights and even self-adhesive, colour-changing LED tape. However, High Power LED Delta kitchen lights remain a firm favourite with kitchen fitters due to its ease of installation.
