No chance for defective trucks
Directly on the A9 near Straß, immediately after the Slovenian border, the first Styrian traffic control check point has been opened. The risks of defective trucks endangering road traffic has now been significantly minimized.
A parking lot was transformed for 4.4 million Euros by Asfinag and the province of Styria. The traffic flow to Graz can be re-directed to the former parking lot Gersdorf using an electronic overhead board. There the trucks are weighed immediately and then subjected to greater scrutiny in a covered area or a test hall.
So that this test procedure can be done quickly, uncomplicated and safely the use of reliable, proven technology is needed. The test lane EURO- SYSTEM for trucks with axle play detector LMS from MAHA fulfills all the test lane requirements. It consists of a roller brake tester for axle loads up to 15t and/or 20t (IW4/IW7). The EUROSYSTEM test lane version makes it universally suited for acceptance and diagnostic lanes with high volume vehicle throughput. The test speed is 3 and/or 6 km/h, roller length 1150 mm, roller diameter 265 mm, roller center separation 475 mm.
All these features speak for this roller brake tester when the province of Styria was deciding about the technical equipping of its traffic control check point. The realization and supervision of the project was carried out by our partners in Austria, the Supanz company.
Controls should take place 10 hours per day with the correspondingly high vehicle volume testing – and the trouble-free handling of this is a prerequisite for further cooperation. Then it is it planned that another control check point should follow this pilot project: for 2012 a traffic control check point is planned in Ilztal on the A2- including a test hall.
