- Expansion of the BatteryPRO product line with E-CARE Fluid service equipment for maintenance of the cooling circuit of electric vehicle high-voltage batteries
- MAHLE to show its CO2 A/C service unit with natural, climate-neutral and environmentally-friendly refrigerant
- Head of MAHLE Aftermarket Philipp Grosse Kleimann: “We can offer our workshop customers technologies for all current and future drive types.”
MAHLE Aftermarket is presenting itself at Automechanika as a global, full-service provider for independent workshops. “We are able to offer our workshop customers solutions and technologies for all current and future drive types,” says Philipp Grosse Kleimann, Member of the MAHLE Management Committee and Head of the Aftermarket business unit. There will be a particular focus on electrification and thermal management. Both areas play a key role in the sustainable mobility of the future. The spare parts and services division of the global automotive supplier is presenting its entire BatteryPRO product line for battery care and diagnostics, a new CO2 A/C service unit with climate-neutral coolant and the new TechPRO® 2 diagnostic tool. Highlights from the original equipment business will also be shown to demonstrate the Group’s diverse technological expertise.
Automechanika takes place from September 10–14, 2024 in Frankfurt am Main (Germany). MAHLE Aftermarket will be prominently presented over nearly 450 m2 throughout this leading trade fair for industry, workshop and trade at three locations: in Hall 9 both at its stand and as an innovation partner at the Zukunftswerkstatt 4.0 (Future Workshop 4.0) location, as well as in the Agora outdoor area.
“At a time when mobility is changing rapidly, we are consistently working to expand our competencies, services and product groups even further,” says Philipp Grosse Kleimann. “We are the workshops’ strong partner – both now and in the future. We create the best conditions so that the mechanics can continue to do a great job for their customers. To honor their work, we are launching our ‘MAHLE Workshop Heroes’ global campaign at Automechanika.”
To continue to grow, MAHLE Aftermarket relies on anticipating market and technology trends early on. Demand-oriented product management, fast and reliable logistics processes, and market-oriented pricing allow the company to offer its customers tailored repair solutions.
The BatteryPRO product line and its five product groups E-SAFETY, E-SCAN, E-HEALTH, E-CARE and E-CHARGE show that MAHLE Aftermarket is already responding to the ever-growing importance of e-mobility. In addition to its E-HEALTH Charge battery diagnostic solution, which provides reliable information on the state of health and performance of high-voltage batteries, MAHLE Aftermarket is also presenting its new product family member, E-CARE Fluid, for the first time. To protect the highly sensitive high-voltage batteries of electric vehicles from external temperature fluctuations, they are equipped with a cooling circuit that must be maintained accordingly. Workshops can use E-CARE Fluid to automatically drain and refill the battery cooling circuit and to identify potential leaks.
Another trade fair highlight comes from the workshop equipment range: the new CO2 A/C service unit from MAHLE Aftermarket uses the 100-percent natural, climate-neutral and environmentally-friendly refrigerant R744. The company has developed a refrigerant circuit for R744, as the thermodynamic characteristics of the refrigerant differ fundamentally from those of the chemical alternatives used so far.
MAHLE Aftermarket supports workshops from vehicle identification through to diagnostics, spare parts procurement, and repair services. At Automechanika, MAHLE is presenting its latest generation of diagnostics tools, TechPRO® 2. The new software features an enhanced user interface with icons and video tutorials for intuitive handling. Thanks to automatic vehicle recognition, TechPRO® 2 is ready for immediate use. In addition to the diagnostics report, Smart Scan provides additional data, such as recall information, technical data sheets, and repair instructions from the manufacturer.
Thanks to the integrated MAHLE Cyber Security Pass, mechanics can access authorized diagnostics with just one click. Just in time for the trade fair, MAHLE Aftermarket is expanding its agreement with well-known manufacturers in order to gain access to their vehicle data. The new Vehicle Communication Interface (VCI) TechPRO 2 Smart is the smallest connector plug on the market that enables diagnostics via the Internet (Diagnostic over Internet Protocol, DoIP). MAHLE remote diagnostics can also be accessed. Electric and hybrid vehicles can also be read using the E-SCAN function.
In addition to its broad portfolio of filters and engine components, MAHLE Aftermarket is showing the top innovations from the Group’s original equipment business at this year’s Automechanika. Examples include the technology kit for electric motors, which combines the advantages of SCT- (Superior Continuous Torque) and MCT- (Magnet-free Contactless Transmitter) electric motors, and the thermal management module, which makes a significant contribution to increasing the cruising range and charging speed of electric vehicles. The power cell unit for hydrogen engines reduces oil consumption and blowby, i.e., the slight leakage of hydrogen into the crankcase, to a minimum – and thus guarantees robust and failure-free operation.
