Movetech UK are pleased to announce they have recently made a donation to ‘BBC Children in Need’, on behalf of a local school, Mab’s Cross Primary School, in neighbouring town, Wigan.
As a family-run business, Movetech UK are very passionate when it comes to supporting local groups and charities, and making this donation will most certainly help with the school’s fundraising efforts.
“The pupils at Mab’s Cross Primary School [Wigan] have recently completed fundraising in aid of Children in Need” said Carolyn Smith – Mab’s Cross School Teacher and Marketing. “All 480 pupils took part in a ramble through the nearby country park and school grounds, and we raised around £450 in total, which is great, but we haven’t quite hit our target yet,” added Carolyn.
As the school is in the centre of a large industrial town, many families are facing economic challenges themselves, and simply don’t have a great deal of money to donate.
Inspired by Bolton’s Paddy McGuiness and his fundraising success for Children in Need, pupils suggested that it would be a great idea to contact local businesses in an attempt to increase their total, and hopefully reach their overall target.
The school had reached out to many local companies in the local area asking if they could kindly make a donation on behalf of the school, and Movetech UK’s Managing Director, Tim Entwistle, thought it would be a great idea to get involved and make a donation to help the school’s fundraising endeavours.
“When we were contacted by the school, I thought it was a great idea to get involved and help towards the school children’s already outstanding fundraising efforts,” said Tim.
“We [Movetech UK] help and support local groups and charities whenever we can,” added Tim. “We find it helps us, as a family-run business, to build relationships and strong ties with our neighbouring community.
“It’s not only a good feeling knowing you’re making a difference by offering a helping hand, but knowing you’re doing something many people will benefit from, and in this case, donating to a worthy cause that helps and supports young disadvantaged children.
“We would like to wish everyone at Mab’s Cross Primary School in Wigan, including staff, pupils and their families, every success in reaching their target, and we hope our donation contributes to the school’s already outstanding fundraising efforts and hitting their overall target.
“Keep it up, and good luck!”
