Opus 3 Events Ltd install a Movetech UK turntable to assist in creating Markerstudy Group’s exhibition stand to put ‘The Fun into Insurance’ at The BIBA 2024 Conference

A rental CU5 centre unit turntable from Movetech UK has helped bespoke exhibition and events company Opus 3 Events Ltd create a fun, interactive and eye-catching exhibition environment for Markerstudy Group at the BIBA 2024 Conference – the UK’s largest insurance broking event, held at Manchester Central in May.

The revolve was incorporated within the upper part of a carousel to create movement, just one element of the Funfair themed stand, all designed and project managed by Opus 3 Events Ltd and constructed and installed by their long-standing exhibition build partner, Southall & Rush Ltd.

Adding movement enhanced what was already a show stopping design. In this instance, our turntable unit was designed to sit above the carousel whilst ‘Mystic Kev’ did readings with exhibition visitors underneath, another of the Markerstudy stands engaging attractions. This obviously needed to conform with the health and safety regulations of both BIBA and the venue. The illusion of the whole carousel turning was the brainchild of Mark Jay, Opus 3 Events Global Creative Director, who designed it so only the top fascia and canopy were moving, showcasing the Markerstudy Group brands.

By creating a truly extraordinary exhibition stand, including movement, sequenced lighting and fun fair themed areas within the space in a show that is synonymous for its serious subject matter, made this a truly stand out space for exhibitors and visitors alike, but most importantly, 100% connecting to Markerstudy Group’s slogan, ‘Putting the Fun into Insurance’.

“The brief to Opus 3 Events Ltd from the Markerstudy Group was to put the fun back into insurance,” said Ian Ward, Global Director, Opus 3 Events Ltd. “We definitely achieved this, and then some when we came up with the idea to install a turntable to rotate the upper section of the carousel, whilst the stand architecture underneath remained static. Our build partner, S&R, then had the challenging task of bringing our ideas to life, which they achieved with great aplomb as always.
