Naylor Drainage has a long track record in supporting merchants and their customers via the provision of high quality drainage and ducting solutions including its flagship ‘MetroDrain’ pipe range and the wide range of ducting products now available.
The support required for National Highways and their contractors is proving a strong driver for business growth. Additional growth is also anticipated via the development of the UK power networks and demand within the EV market. To support this and to ensure our merchant partners continue to have access to high quality products within short lead times, Naylor Drainage is currently making significant investments in additional and updated manufacturing facilities at both its Yorkshire based headquarters and its Scottish site in Methil near Fife.
The investment will increase manufacturing capacity. It will also increase Naylor Drainage’s manufacturing capabilities, enabling it to expand its current product portfolio so merchants can capitalise upon the opportunities being created by climate change, investments in power and EV networks, and the need for more housing and infrastructure to deal with population growth.

Recent additions to the Naylor Drainage product range include MetroDrain LC, a low carbon alternative to Naylor’s MetroDrain standard range and the new MetroDuct Class 1 ducting system. A sewer pipe system, MetroSewer, will also be launched later this year.
One of Naylor Drainage’s most popular products, MetroDrain is designed to collect and dispose of surface and sub-surface storm water. MetroDrain LC is a new low carbon version which uses less than 48% less carbon (kgCO2e) in its manufacture but delivers the same performance with regard to stiffness, jetting resistance, joint performance and durability.
A twin wall system which is available in sizes ranging from 150mm to 600mm diameter, MetroDrain LC is designed for use with all non-pressure, surface and sub-surface storm water drainage applications including environmental water management systems, soakaway and storm water attenuation systems.

MetroDuct Class 1 is a new polypropylene twin wall ducting system which is suitable for Class 1 applications in the energy distribution market. Designed for high voltage energy transmission, MetroDuct Class 1 meets the Energy Network Association Technical Specification 12-24 (ENATS 12-24) and is compatible with other Naylor Drainage products including Class 2 ducting. It is particularly well suited to electric vehicle (EV) charging, power generation and other high voltage applications.
Marking Naylor’s first diversification into sewer products, MetroSewer will meet the requirement of water companies in applications where they need to adhere to strict ‘jetting’ for the cleaning of sewers. MetroSewer will be able to withstand a jet pressure of 180 mPA for five minutes, the minimum required standard.
Richard Edwards, Managing Director of Naylor Drainage, comments: “We take pride in providing merchants and their customers with consistently high quality solutions which represent good value for money and by ensuring high stock levels are available to meet customer demands. Our current programme of investment underlines this approach, will support merchant ambitions and will ensure we are all better placed to take advantage of a better construction climate.”
