Full text of ITM’s “Award Notification”:
The warehousing and logistics industry today aims for excellence in efficiency, reliability and end-user fulfillment. Within their own operational systems, they depend upon equipment suppliers to provide them with appropriate machinery to get the job done as swiftly and safely as possible. It is because of this that the Institute of Transport Management has given Carrylift the title of “UK Forklift Truck Company 2012”, on foot of its excellent solutions in this arena.
Founded in 1988, the Carrylift Group has grown to be one of the largest forklift truck and materials handling companies in the UK, specialising in the sales, local service, hire and rental of materials handling equipment. In 2010, the Carrylift Group became part of the CorpAcq Group, a South Manchester-based investment company, committed to the acquisition, management and growth of successful businesses.
The group operates through seven strategically located centres, with headquarters in Skelmersdale, Lancashire and is a principal member of the Nissan Forklift Dealer Network; in fact, it has been the largest Nissan Forklift truck distributor in the UK for over 20 years. With over 700 model variations, Nissan vehicles can be tailored to suit the customer’s exact circumstances. State-of-the-art research and development has led to ground-breaking developments such as the new TRI-CAT SYSTEM which cuts LPG emissions by up to 99 percent. As well as this, with Nissan, product lines are backed up with an excellent spare parts and service system to ensure that customers receive a lifetime of quality performance.
Carrylift Group is committed to leading the industry by minimising the impact its business activities have on the environment. Carrylift is the first and only forklift truck company in the UK that provides carbon removal trucks, for example. All Nissan materials handling equipment purchased from Carrylift have their C02 carbon emissions removed for life thanks to Carrylift’s exclusive partnership with the Woodland Trust. Carrylift have planted more than 42 acres of new native woodland, locking up more than 6,800 tonnes of C02 emissions, helping to combat climate change and enhance the environment.
Truly committed to eco values, Carrylift will only sell equipment from manufacturers with strong environmental ethos. For example, Nissan are ISO 14001 accredited and are the first forklift manufacturer to gain the California Air Resources Board (ARB) certification for their LPG 2012 engines.
Carrylift has also been honoured for its environmental commitment by its peers, walking away winners at last year’s Lancashire Green Awards, after being awarded the Green Transport Award 2011.
According to the ITM:
“A full service company, Carrylift provides excellence service in terms of the purchase and rental of forklifts, casual hire services, 24 hour breakdown assistance, spare parts and even forklift truck training. It also offers a number of purchase options and finance services, all supported by some of the strongest financial organisations in the world. This array of services, coupled with its commitment to the environment, customer service and staff development, makes Carrylift a truly deserving winner of the Institute’s ‘UK Forklift Truck Company 2012’ award. Congratulations are due to all involved in making the company such a success.”
