Wireless RTU

Omniflex has developed the Teleterm M2R range of wireless units to pick up existing instrumentation signals and transmit them across the plant, or to connect remote areas of a plant to each other. With distances up to 10 km line-of-sight covered by a standard stubby antenna, the system provides an easy to use wireless network extension for existing cabled installations. Based on licence free bands and using FHSS (Frequency Hopping and Spread Spectrum) technology the units are immune to other radio devices, particularly handheld radios which can play havoc with data transmissions running in the same bands. This new technology allows multiple channels to share the same frequency and its low power restricts the RF influence to localised areas of the plant. Remote pump control The Teleterm M2R provides a cost effective control system for remote pump stop and start applications. Integrated with an Easyview touch screen HMI from Omniflex, minimal wiring is required for status indication or control buttons which are all integrated into the HMI to give a true pre-packaged solution for plug-and-play in the plant. Last mile networking Ideal for those hard to reach areas of the plant the Omniflex M2R can be integrated into cable-based networks simply by using the on-board standard Modbus port. Thus connecting an M2R into an existing network is simple and provides a wireless link to peripheral equipment that is too expensive to cable connect. The Omniflex Teleterm units are designed with a number of communication interfaces enabling a mix and match approach to solving plant I/O data acquisition. Cable and wireless can be seamlessly blended by interconnecting the Teleterm M2 units to get to hard to reach areas of the plant. The system comprises: * M2R transceiver with up to 12 universal inputs and a serial port for third party device interfacing. * Choices of antennae for range and direction or a standard stubby for general purpose applications. * Powered from 9-30 VDC for flexible battery backed application. * Powerful touch-screen operator interface terminal for control and monitoring. * Solar powered solutions optional.
