Data Acquisition with front-end time-stamped events

When a customer required a system to collect plant data for SCADA with Sequence of events for trip shut down diagnostics, MAXIFLEX was chosen because of its "Time stamp at source" capability. This effectively eliminated Network communications latency errors, and provided an event stream to a SCADA database that could be sorted chronologically for trip diagnosis. Using a CONET OPC server, any OPC client can access time stamped event data, packing it into the SCADA database. A plethora of sophisticated analysis tools are used to process the data for analysis reporting.Features of this application:All data was time-stamped at source for transmission as time-stamped event to the SCADA to eliminate polling delays and inaccuracy in the event time-stamps. Maxiflex is inherently capable of time-stamping to 10ms resolution, and combined with OMNIFLEX's SER260 specialised Sequence-of-Event Recorders, 1ms resolution is easily achieved. Time-stamped events and regular polling of non-critical inputs were mixed on the system for optimum system cost/performance.
