Substation Energy Meter Data Acquisition

When a customer required a system to connect 27 Intelligent Energy Management Monitoring systems fitted at various electrical substations distributed around a large manufacturing plant, MAXIFLEX was chosen to collect all the energy parameters from the metering equipment and to transmit the data to the SCADA system located in a central control room. Due to the distances between substations and the cost of cabling, the system used a Conet Network running on an existing twisted Pair to connect all the substations to the SCADA system. MAXIFLEX utilised its programmable RS485 Port to connect multiple Energy Meters to the CONET network using the in-built Modbus protocol.Features of this application:Existing plant cabling used in a high noise environment. Protocol conversion done using Network Interface modules to present data to the SCADA in a standard format, regardless of the source.
