After five years of constructing Britain’s first new aircraft carrier in more than 30 years, HMS Queen Elizabeth is complete. HMS Queen Elizabeth is the UK’s biggest warship weighing 65,000 tonnes and stretching 280 metres in length, and 70 metres wide.
HMS Queen Elizabeth was constructed in sections around various shipyards in the UK, and transported to Rosyth in Fife, Scotland. During the construction, over 10,000 people at shipyards and suppliers across the UK have been involved in its manufacture – Spraylat International Ltd was part of that.
Protectapeel Anti-Rust was applied to bare steel parts from damage such as:
- Flash Rusting.
- Weathering.
- Abrasion.
- Dirt.
- Staining, Spillage and Scratching.
When the sections arrived in Rosyth, engineers were able to simply peel back the Protectapeel coating revealing undamaged sections. This saved the engineers time and money as they were able to assemble the sections immediately, without having to spend time cleaning down or replacing parts and components.
Protectapeel Anti-Rust is a temporary peelable protective coating easily applied by spray gun or roller, is designed to protect steel and metal surfaces from damage. The liquid applied coating dries to form a tough waterproof film that will protect metal surfaces for up to 12 months. When required, Protectapeel Anti-Rust is removed by simply hand peeling, revealing clean, undamaged surfaces.
