Reinvigorating The New Orleans Skyline
19-07-2021
The Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences is a historic 33-story skyscraper, formerly known as the International Trade Mart.
The building closed in June 2011 and was purchased by the city of New Orleans. In the years following the closure, several plans emerged. Various groups campaigned for renovation rather than demolition. Whilst others campaigned to have the building demolished and build a landmark instead.
In 2018, work began to convert the structure to a Four Seasons Hotel. The conversion is projected to have cost $450 million. Protectapeel® was used to protect the glass internally and externally during the renovation. Protecting mass sheets of glass from potential damage such as scratching and dust. The environmentally friendly coating was used up until hand over. Simply hand peeled away, the glass remained pristine. This allowed the project to be handed over quickly and efficiently.
The Four Seasons Hotel and Residences is due to open in December 2020.
