Back to the office during Covid-19: Precautions you need to take
Some offices and communities are now re-opening for business. At Safety Via Technology, we are closely following the latest guidance from the CDC and assisting UK employers and employees by providing them with our online COVID-19 return to work awareness training course and workplace COVID-19 risk assessments.
Our COVID-19 e-learning safety training programs are in compliance with the UK Government’s health and safety requirements and legislation and are designed to help you learn at your own convenience.
During this time of crisis, it is imperative to keep employees up to date with information, safety precautions and guidelines.
Here are some of the best practices to adopt to stay healthy and safe at the workplace during the COVID-19 pandemic:
• Stagger working hours and office attendance. Conduct thermal screening before entering the office premises.
• Wash your hands regularly with soap for at least 20 seconds, particularly at the workplace or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. Make sure you use a hand sanitiser if soap and water are not available.
• Avoid close contact with co-workers, and ensure at least 6 feet physical distance in work spaces, cafeterias, and meeting / conference rooms.
• Clean and disinfect high touch surfaces daily e.g. tables, door handles, desks, computers, phones, keyboards, light switches, lift buttons, sinks, and toilets.
• Keep workspaces ventilated and organise staggered meal breaks.
• Wear a mask or cloth face covering over your mouth and nose when around others.
• Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing and dispose of it straightaway. If a tissue is not available, use your elbow or sleeve to cough or sneeze.
• Create a medical room or clinic for isolating an employee if he / she falls ill.
• Stay at home if you have a fever, cough or cold.
• Stay informed about what is happening in your community and always follow the instructions of local authorities.
