ROCKBOND UNDERWATER GROUT FILL 20 DESCRIPTION: ROCKBOND UNDERWATER GROUT FILL 20 (RB UWGF20) powder is a premixed cementitious grout powder specially formulated for underwater flowing lightweight applications. The compound contains a blend of cement powders, compatible admixtures and is free of sand and aggregate. The compound, when mixed with water, produces a material that is flowing, cohesive, self compacting and displays excellent resistance to washout and breakdown when brought into contact with water. The product is designed to fill high volume underwater voids with a low weight, low heat material. The powder is packaged in 25kg moisture proof durable bags and has a shelf life of 5 years. SPECIAL PROPERTIES: * Portland cement based, shrinkage compensated and microsilica enhanced. * Contains water soluble polymers: will not washout, disperse or break up underwater. * Contains expansive agents to ensure the grout will “tighten-up” in voids, joints, cracks and gaps. * Extremely stable, will not segregate or bleed under pressure, and is readily pumpable. * Self smoothing, self levelling and self compacting. * Can be accelerated to speed up an early strength development when time is short. * Excellent underwater bond to stone, brick, masonry, concrete and steel. * The hardened grout is waterproof, impermeable and resistant to chemical attack. * High yielding, economical, non flammable, non toxic, odour free, user friendly and safe to use. USES: + General flowing underwater void filling applications. + Void filling applications that require a low density, low heat, lightweight volume fill. + Underwater injection and pumping applications to grout behind concrete, brick and stone walls. + For the strengthening of sea defences, harbours, quays and jetties, ramps and slipways. + The repair and consolidation of water retaining structures, bridges, dams, pillars and columns. + For waterproofing foundations, anchorages, pilings, culverts, conduits, pipes and sewers. + To grout up open graded aggregates to produce void free, fully compacted, non shrink, high strength “in situ” underwater concrete and underwater concrete structures. MIXING INSTRUCTIONS: ROCKBOND UNDERWATER GROUT FILL powder is mixed with water using a ROCKBOND CONCRETE STIRRER (RB CS), a pneumatic or electric power tool (1kW) and a ROCKBOND 25 LITRE MIXING CONTAINER (RB 25LMC). Use a ROCKBOND FORCED ACTION PAN MIXER (RB FAPM) to mix larger amounts of material. Add 17.5 litres of water to the container or mixer. Pour 25kg of powder onto the water while mixing. After all the powder has been added, mix for 30 seconds. The underwater grout is now ready for use. Alternatively, small amounts of the material can be prepared by slowly adding the powder to a quantity of water in a suitable container and mixing to the required consistency. ROCKBOND UNDERWATER GROUT FILL 20 (RB UWGF20), APPLICATION PROCEDURE: All necessary preparatory work must be completed before the grout is mixed. Ensure that all surfaces with which the material comes into contact with are clean and free of marine growth. The use of a water jet will produce a good and strong substrate on which to apply the material. Use ROCKBOND UNDERWATER ACCELERATED MORTAR (RB UWAM) to seal shutters. Make sure that any joints are watertight and shutters are strong enough to contain and support the material. The grout can be pumped or tremied into place. Make sure air is not introduced into the material.
