Tap Connector Assembly and Test Machine One of Britain’s leading water equipment suppliers made Sapcote Engineering a favourite to design, manufacture and install a fully automated assembly and test machine for their latest outdoor tap adaptor product. The client required a bespoke automation solution capable of batch assembling their product with quality control and ensuring product compliance to the client’s standards and user-ready. The key challenge of the project was to ensure the alignment of assembled components, balancing each automated task and overall reducing cycle-time from conventional processes. Based on our proven company model developed and refined over time, the stand-alone machine ensured the incorporation of pneumatic mechanisms, quality control equipment and automatic feeders for simple system composition and low maintenance. The integrated rotary indexing table allows parts to undergo assembly and test procedures sequentially. The system was fully assembled, set up and production tested in our own factory prior to installation and commissioning. This enabled Sapcote Engineering to demonstrate that the equipment not only met but exceeded the challenging cycle time, uptime and throughput criteria that had been set at the concept stage, making the project a success for all involved.
