For schools where most pupils are under 11 (Y6 and below) there should be at least as many wash basins as the basic number of sanitary fittings. For schools where most pupils are 11 or older (Y7 and above) washrooms with one sanitary fitting / two sanitary fittings should contain at least one wash basin / two wash basins respectively.
