You Can Never Have Enough Bandsaws Channa Engineering is a family run business based in Essex. They specialise in all metal works, designing and creating custom gates, grilles, railings, balustrades & much more. We spoke to Surinder Channa, the proprietor, to ask about his love for bandsaws. Selmach is very good, we’ve had no problems. The guys are very helpful, in fact, they’re brilliant. How did you hear about Selmach and why did you choose them? I’ve known about Selmach for ages. I knew they had what I needed and I’ve had several machines off them now, including a bandsaw and a small bandsaw and we’re looking to get another in the new year, they’re that good. Why did you need a new bandsaw? We were replacing our old bandsaw. It was very old and we were needing to cut some bigger pieces so we thought it was a good time to get a new one. We cut steel of various sizes so we needed a machine that could cope. Have they met your expectations? Yes, we're very happy with them so far, no problems and I’ve no doubts about them at all. That’s why we’re going to get another one. We’re cutting a lot and another will ease the pressure on the ones we’ve got. You can never have enough bandsaws. How has the business benefitted overall? Work is much faster, they are very easy to use. What are your thoughts on the aftercare and service throughout the process? No problems at all. Nothing wrong so far but I’m confident that if anything does go wrong that they’ll be out to help. The only time I have to think about it is when I’m changing the blades. Tips/advice for others looking to buy the same machine? So many other guys have mentioned Selmach and their machines to me, I’m sure most engineering companies know about them.
