General
All casting related operations are carried out at our Bond Street site, a self contained, purpose-built foundry unit. Included are a SAND foundry and a GRAVITY DIE foundry, each carrying out different casting and process methods. Supporting these departments are Fettling/Trimming shop, Tool Room, Heat Treatment plant and a team of Quality Assurance personnel
Non destructive testing is carried out on Real Time X-ray equipment and by Dye Penetrant crack detection methods. Routine Hardness and Tensile testing/reporting is also carried out
Castings requiring machining, finishing and further testing are transferred to the Engineering Division at our Quayside Road site
Machining operations are carried out on CNC lathes and machining centres, on conventional machine tools and on special purpose designed and built equipment often organised within cellular manufacturing units. Pressure testing, hydraulic testing, vacuum testing and leak detection facilities are also available, as is certification if required. We specialise in producing internally sound castings. More than 70 % of castings produced are leak or pressure tested
