50 Years of Growth and Innovation

From a small family garage to a leading supplier serving industries across the globe, West Yorkshire Steel has always been at the forefront of innovation and progress. Over the years, we have continuously evolved:

Where It All Began

Our journey started in 1975, when Brian Ellis, a passionate metallurgist from Sheffield Technical College, spotted a gap in the market for high-quality steel and expert service. With experience gained at Kayser Ellison, Climax Molybdenum, and Uddeholm, he founded West Yorkshire Steel with a small stock and bandsaw cutting facilities.

The Present Day

Fast forward to 2025, and West Yorkshire Steel has grown into a leading name in the steel industry. While we remain true to our family business values, our team has expanded to ensure we continue delivering the best service to our valued customers.
