Are Your Manhole Covers Safe?

Fabricated Steel Manhole Covers are used in many locations but are they really the best and cost effective option?

Here we have a cover installed on a petrol filling station and within the lane to the tanker offloading area, so it should be load rated to carry a 44 ton tanker.

On the surface at first glance it looks OK but looking closer you see that it is bowing in the middle. Maybe its time to see what it is like below?

I think we can safely say that it has seen better days and probably would not withstand a car never mind a 44 ton tanker.

Composite manhole covers do not rust they also have many other advantages but prehaps most importantly they cost a similar price as a fabricated steel cover.

Don't compromise for second best and end up replacing rusting fabricated steel covers, fit composite covers and no longer worry about corrosion.
