FIA 2016: FSL wins fifth consecutive SC21 Bronze Award

Supplier of fastenings, fixings and associated components for the aerospace and defence industries, FSL Aerospace, has been awarded its fifth consecutive SC21 Bronze Award by ADS and presented at the Farnborough International Airshow 2016. ADS’ SC21 is a change programme designed to accelerate the competitiveness of the aerospace & defence industry by raising the performance of its supply chains. ADS have said that “International competition, together with the challenges posed by the defence industrial strategy, necessitates rapid improvement in the effectiveness of supply chains.” FSL have embraced the SC21 national aerospace and defence sector improvement programme to drive continuous improvement throughout the organisation. It is not just about on-time deliveries being over 90% and quality right first time being over 98%, there is so much more to SC21 which has benefitted the company. Driving through efficiency improvements has been paramount in FSL achieving a sales increase of 20% this year, whilst maintaining staff levels and increasing capacity. FSL’s General Manager, Richard Woodward, said: “I am very proud that we have secured our fifth consecutive SC21 Bronze. It means a great deal to the whole team. Also, to be presented with this award at the Farnborough Airshow will add even more excitement to the event.”
