Red Sea disruptions continue to affect Global Supply Chains

The Red Sea disruptions are still having an impact on global supply chains.

This shipping crisis is a result of Houthi rebel attacks on cargo ships and tankers. As there seems no end to these increasing attacks, more and more shipping companies are being forced to reroute around the Cape of Good Hope, southern Africa, to avoid the Suez Canal one of the world’s most important waterways.

The diversion adds about 6,000 nautical miles to a typical journey from Asia to Europe, potentially adding around 2 weeks to delivery schedules.

International Freight Solutions will continue to monitor the delays and adjustments in rates. However, we strongly encourage suppliers to be pro-active and secure bookings well in advance.

International Freight Solutions are keeping a close eye on this global situation and will endeavour to keep our customers abreast of any updates to report. IFS understand the impact of these developments on our customers and are committed to offering your business help and support during this time.
