Ofsted is improving the outcomes for children and young people with SEND

A new report has been published by Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission on a new area in SEND framework

What will this new framework consider?

The framework will be considering how local partnerships are fulfilling their legal duties which make positive differences to children and young peoples lives.

A new cycle of inspections will now happen across local areas and partnerships this includes insprections for areas with systematic or widespread weakness.

Inspection outcomes will include...

Local partnerships's SEND arrangements lead to positive experiences and outcomes for children and young people. Inspections will contribute to imrpovements which will be made in areas needed.

Urgent changes will be addressed and made to widespread failing areas which are leading to high concerns about the experiences which children and young people are having with SEND.

If they become aware of information that suggests a change in performance or a serious concern, Ofsted can carry out a monitoring inspection which can happen earlier than planned.
