Background
Bentley Motors Limited (Bentley) is a British manufacturer and marketer of luxury cars and SUVs, and a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group since 1998.
Headquartered in Crewe, England, the company was founded as Bentley Motors Limited by W. O. Bentley in 1919 in Cricklewood, North London, and became widely known after winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1924, 1927, 1928, 1929 and 1930.
Challenges
Astutis are very proud to have supported Bentley with health, safety, and environment (HSE) training services since 2016. As a prestige motor vehicle manufacturer renowned for the quality of their product, the Bentley reputation aligns well to Astutis’ own pursuit of excellence within our training services operations.
As the global leader of accredited HSE training and an approved supplier to Bentley, Astutis have supported the facilitation of accredited IOSH, NEBOSH and IEMA training. This support has included NEBOSH General Certificate and National Diploma, IEMA Foundation and Certificate in Environmental Management, IOSH Safety for Executives and Directors and Managing Safely training courses.
Well before the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic and given Bentley’s willingness to embrace innovative learning techniques, Bentley elected to run a trial of our online (e-learning) IOSH Managing Safely training course, with the objective of trial success being a wider roll out of the training across the Production Maintenance function. The initial trial was very successful, with excellent course pass marks and delegate feedback received, which led to the wider training roll out continuing as planned.
Results
Our IOSH Managing Safely training has since been rolled out to an extensive number of Bentley colleagues, and the Astutis e-learning course has allowed learners to study on any device 24/7 365. This flexibility of learning has helped to minimise operational disruption, whilst still ensuring that learners have had an excellent and successful learning experience.
