Since our partnership with SEAT, Axair Fans has always had an impressive selection of corrosion resistant polypropylene fans for use within hazardous atmospheres and ATEX applications in addition to a wide range of installation accessories.
Let’s look at the features of the well known S and ST range of corrosion resistant polypropylene fans:
SEAT Housings: Polypropylene single block strong high density UV treated and recyclable polypropylene (PPH) with no welded joint. Reversible and rotatable to any of the eight standard discharge positions by 45 degree increments. All fan mounting hardware in stainless steel.
SEAT Wheels: Polypropylene forward curved centrifugal type impeller made of injected moulded PPH. Fan wheel supplied with hub cap contructed of PPH. Wheels electronically and dynamically balanced to ISO 1940.
SEAT Motors: Direct drive, asynchronous, single or three phase IP55 motors. Three Phase 230-400 v-50/60Hz, single phase 230V-50Hz. Explosion proof motors are available on request. Motor is outside of the airstream. Three phase motors are speed adjustable by variable frequency inverter drive. Motors offered are IE2 to comply with EU regulations 640/2009 and 04/2014 and will be upgraded to suit any new changes in regulations.
Metal Pedestals: For many years we have been protecting fan motors with our outdoor weatherproof box pedestal, but due to customer feedback and demand, we introduced our metal pedestal in 2015. The finish is now galvanised and has extended feet to ensure the fan installation remains stable.
Wall Bracket: Following on from the steel pedestal, we later introduced a wall bracket which comprised additional pieces onto the metal pedestal to encourage easier fan installations for the motor to rest on.
Stack Support: To support the discharge stack we added a stack support to the portfolio which was supported by the new pedestal and support discharge stack up to 1.5metres high which comes in three individual sections to make it a versatile option.
Weather Cowl: For applications where customers do not wish to use a full weather protecting box pedestal, our plastic motor cowl can easily be fitted into any installation. Some of our accessory range has been changed and added to, to help with ease of installation we can offer tapered flexible connectors. We still have our core of accessories including drain, straight flexible connectors, anti-vibration mount and electrical isolators. In addition our inverter range has changed to an inverter that can be programmed to suit the fan supplied.
Controllers: Airflow controls and monitors are for use with fume cupboards and chemical cabinets. The A & C controller range from basic airflow alarms to an airflow sash alarm while the C also includes a control output for extract and make up fans. The sensor detects the change in velocity and sends a signal to the control which is used to produce a visual indication of velocity through the sash.
With a large focus on fume extraction systems and fume cupboards in particular, we’re currently exploring the options of fume cupboard controllers. 2016/2017 has seen the introduction of our brand new CIBSE approved CPD in Industrial Fume Extraction Systems and Components, which is available to book on either a remote webinar session or a face to face lunchtime seminar to 6 or more clients.
