BOC Edwards makes its move to Czech mate
Continuing with the long term relationship Bubble Automation has with BOC Edwards, we were entrusted with a fairly complicated project, which required three of the existing EM family type pump test panels to be upgraded for the planned relocation to the Czech Republic.
These new test panels were to allow both RV and EM type pumps to be simultaneously tested on the same panel.
The PLC and SCADA software required extensive modifications. These included Streamlining the data between the SCADA and the PLC as well as single
piece flow, which allowed pumps to be placed on test at any time.
The new system would give BOC Edwards far greater flexibility when scheduling pump build and test. One of the key requirements of the project was to keep disruption of the pump production facility to an absolute minimum.
This involved taking one panel off production, carrying out the upgrade work and then installing the new software, when the new PLC and SCADA were fully commissioned the other panels were then taken offline.
All the required upgrade work was carried out and completed within the specified timeframe. Before shipment the panels were put through a thorough test regime over an agreed proving period.
