YMCA Sleep Easy using our boxes as shelter for a great cause
Over the years we have been donating cardboard boxes to support our local YMCA’s Black Country Group, for their inspiring annual ‘Sleep Easy’ event that is taking place today. (10th March 2023).
YMCA is the largest and oldest charity working with young people (and their communities) in the world. YMCA Black Country Group is an independent local charity, affiliated to the wider YMCA Federation in England & Wales, and the global YMCA family.
Sleep Easy is a national event, which the YMCA have been running for over 10 years; This challenge event asks to spend one night sleeping somewhere other than your bed in order to raise critical funds to assist YMCA in addressing the root causes of youth homelessness.
Grabbing a sleeping bag, building a cardboard fort and going somewhere other than your bed to sleep, such as your garden, living room, hallway, or another safe location. Sponsorship money is raised and the money goes towards supporting the amazing work of the charity.
We would like to wish them and everyone taking part all the best with today’s Sleep Easy event, which has been made even more difficult with the recent weather we are having.
