Composite decking’s been rising in popularity for a while and is often used in deck builds, as an alternative to hard or softwood. At Champion Timber we stock a range of British made Millboard decking. An environmentally friendly, lower maintenance and natural alternative to traditional timber decking.
Real wood is a beautiful addition to any outdoor space but it does come with disadvantages such as weathering and rot over time. What Millboard have been able to achieve is to combine the natural beauty of real timber whilst having a unique product that combats all the issues and niggles of traditional timber decking.
Made from an exclusive polyurethane resin blend, with a resilient Lastane® surface layer, Millboard decking has the highest anti slip properties available at the moment. The composition of the decking means that it is able to be resilient to mould, stains, algae, impact and moisture. All of this resulting in a much lower maintenance and longer lasting deck.
The blend of natural materials bonded in a polymer resin gives the structural core added strength and durability, and as it is a solid board it will not twist, warp, expand or contract. And it won’t splinter delicate feet or paws.
The Lastane® coating on the Millboard decking hides the fixings making them virtually invisible. When the Durafix screws are drilled into the boards the Lastane® coating flexes back over them creating a really neat finish. There’s no pre-drilling, counter sinking or fiddly clip fixings needed, making for a much quicker fix than timber decking.
