Engineered wood flooring comes in cheaper than solid wood per m2 whilst still having all the same great aesthetics. Engineered wood flooring is constructed in a way that makes it much more versatile and practical in the home. The three-layered construction of natural wood, softwood and sheeting materials makes it suitable for use with underfloor heating without the risk of warping. Engineered wood finishes We have a range of finishes available in our engineered flooring range to enhance the wood’s natural appearance. UV oiled: each board is coated between five and seven times and cured with a UV lamp between each coat. This process produces a protective coat with a muted appearance. Matt lacquered: the flooring will appear similar to an oiled floor with a dull satin sheen whilst maintaining the hardiness of a lacquered floor. UV lacquered: is extremely smooth and glossy and is also hardwearing; making cleaning and upkeep really easy. Brushed: A good option if you like a natural feel. This finish highlights the natural look and feel of the wood – perfect for a more rustic style flooring. Bevelled or planed Bevelled edges create a slight groove between planks and gives the floor a patterned finish. Planed edges will give a smooth finish with subtle ribbing for an authentic look.
