EMC is literally in our name here at Cranage EMC and Safety, but what is it? The short answer is that those initials stand for “electromagnetic compatibility”, which refers to the ability of electrical equipment and systems to provide the performance they are supposed to provide, without interference, when they are located close to each other.
The 2020s is an era in which the typical home or commercial premises can easily contain 10 or more electronic devices at any one time. Unsurprisingly, then, it has become more and more important for brands wishing to bring a particular product to market to look seriously into the EMC test process.
Indeed, in most markets around the world – encompassing the likes of Europe, the United States, China, Australia, and New Zealand – EMC certifications are a mandatory requirement.
